Accountant

Client: Leading Entertainment Firm Title: Accountant Duration: 09 Months (Potential Extension/Conversion) Location: Los Angeles, CA 90038 - Onsite Pay Range: ($50 - $55) on an hourly basis Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in general accounting, financial reconciliations, revenue recognition, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with journal entries, General Ledger (GL) accounting, financial reporting, and analyzing large volumes of financial data. Responsibilities: Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities, including revenue recognition and Trial Balance reconciliations. Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate General Ledger records. Analyze and reconcile financial accounts, cash balances, and clearing accounts. Review licensing agreements and calculate applicable fees based on contractual terms. Analyze foreign exchange variances, bad debt, and actual financial performance against forecasts. Support revenue tracking, financial reporting, and intercompany accounting. Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX controls. Utilize accounting systems and Excel-based tools for financial analysis and reporting. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 3–5 years of relevant general accounting experience. Strong understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, and General Ledger accounting. Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, and large financial datasets. Proficiency in MS Excel and strong analytical skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines. Willingness to work overtime during month-end/quarter-end close and occasional weekends. Preferred Qualifications: CPA certification. Experience with SA P General Ledger, Ora_cle, or Ora_cle Fusion. Experience with Media/Entertainment/Streaming/Gaming background. Experience in the entertainment, media, or content licensing industry. Knowledge of revenue recognition, licensing agreements, and financial control.
