Chief Financial Officer (CFO) General Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing and directing the overall financial operations of the Client Health Center. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO will manage financial planning, budgeting, accounting operations, grant and contract fiscal management, and financial reporting to support organizational goals and compliance requirements. ON-SITE IN NYC NO REMOTE NO RELOCATIONS Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee recruitment, supervision, training, and evaluation of Finance Department staff. Supervise the Controller, Director of Revenue Cycle, and Payroll Manager. Manage payroll, purchasing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and other accounting functions. Prepare financial analyses and management reports. Develop budgets for grants, contracts, and organizational operations. Ensure timely payment of taxes and insurance premiums. Oversee all organizational insurance coverage. Manage fiscal operations related to grants and government contracts. Serve as liaison with funding agencies regarding financial matters. Develop and monitor purchasing and inventory procedures. Negotiate contracts for CEO approval. Oversee reimbursement activities including Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, and private insurance. Monitor special reimbursement programs and rate adjustments. Prepare and submit cost reports and annual expenditure reports. Assist with Board financial reporting and presentations. Coordinate development and oversight of departmental and organizational budgets. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned by the CEO. Knowledge, Education, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor???s degree with extensive fiscal management experience, or MBA in Finance with related experience. Strong knowledge of nonprofit or healthcare financial management. Experience with grants, government contracts, budgeting, and reimbursement systems. Understanding of community health center financial operations and compliance requirements. Proficiency in accounting systems, spreadsheets, and financial reporting software. Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to interact effectively with executive leadership, Board members, and staff. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Travel to Client Health Center locations may be required. Flexible schedule beyond a standard 40-hour work week, including occasional Saturdays.
