Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will play a key leadership role in building the accounting and finance organization necessary to support a targeted public offering within the next several years. The successful candidate will lead accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, audit readiness, and finance process improvements while helping establish the foundation for SEC reporting and SOX compliance. Long-term, this position is expected to be a leading candidate for succession into the CFO role following the company's anticipated transition to the public markets. Job Details What You'll Be Doing Lead all accounting operations across a multi-location organization Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting Develop and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning Support external audits, tax advisors, lenders, and banking relationships Build public-company readiness, including SOX controls and reporting infrastructure Mentor and develop a growing accounting team Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and organizational scalability What We're Looking For CPA required Big 4 public accounting background strongly preferred Previous Controller experience required Public company accounting experience required Experience supporting multi-location organizations Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting Experience leading accounting teams in complex operating environments Ability to partner with executive leadership and Board-level stakeholders Prior retail, dealership, distribution, service, or other multi-site operating experience preferred Compensation Base salary: DOE Target bonus: 20% Future equity participation anticipated upon progression into executive leadership Relocation assistance available Interested in hearing more?
