Job Title:
Financial Accountant

Job Purpose:
Seeking a highly organised and proactive Financial Accountant with at least 8 years’ experience in financial accounting, preferably within the construction industry. The role involves planning and management accounting, general accounting and reporting, fixed asset and project accounting, as well as developing and managing staff to ensure effective operating procedures.

Knowledge Needed:

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• High level of discretion with strict confidentiality at all times
• Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal)
• Strong communication skills
• Financial planning skills
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Sound understanding of accounting principles, VAT, income tax laws, audit requirements, and SARS depreciation regulations
• Strong planning, organising, prioritising, and time management skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively under pressure

Qualifications and Experience:

• Matric / Grade 12
• BCom Accounting / Financial Accounting or equivalent
• Registration with CIMA, SAICA, or SAIPA would be advantageous
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience as an Accountant (construction industry experience advantageous)
