About the Role

We are looking for a senior, hands-on leader with a strong finance background to take ownership of Finance and to drive the strategic direction of Operations in our Ukraine office. This is a General Manager–caliber role for someone who can operate as the right hand to the Site Manager — owning financial planning and control end-to-end, while shaping how the business runs operationally at a strategic level.

You will directly lead the Finance team (currently headed by our Chief Accountant), and work in close partnership with our existing HR & Operations team to align operational priorities, processes, and resourcing with overall business strategy.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Operations Partnership

  • Set the strategic direction for the Operations function in close partnership with the Head of HR & Operations, ensuring operational priorities align with business and financial goals
  • Own company-wide operating rhythms from a business standpoint: budgeting cycles, planning processes, KPI/OKR tracking
  • Act as a thought partner on org design, workforce planning, and process scaling as the company grows, bringing a financial and business lens to operational decisions
  • Represent the company in relationships with landlords, government bodies, banks, auditors, and other external stakeholders where finance and operations intersect
  • Help resolve cross-functional bottlenecks where operations and finance priorities need to be balanced

Finance Leadership

  • Own financial planning & analysis: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting to leadership
  • Provide financial visibility and decision support to the CEO and product/business leaders
  • Oversee the Chief Accountant and finance team, ensuring accurate statutory accounting, tax compliance, and audit readiness
  • Build out financial controls, reporting infrastructure, and management accounting practices (moving beyond pure bookkeeping/compliance toward strategic finance)
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and other financial institutions

Leadership

  • Bring structure and predictability to how the company plans, spends, and measures itself
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO on business performance and operational risk
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Finance, with at least 2-3 years in a General Manager, COO, or similar senior leadership role
  • Strong command of financial planning, budgeting, and management reporting (not just statutory accounting)
  • Experience managing or closely partnering with accounting/finance teams in Ukraine, with working knowledge of local regulatory and tax environment
  • Proven ability to lead a finance function directly while influencing and partnering with adjacent functions (Operations, HR) without direct authority over them
  • Experience in a product/tech company environment is a strong plus
  • Excellent English (working language) and Ukrainian
  • Hands-on mentality — comfortable both setting strategy and rolling up sleeves
