This role is ideal for a proactive accounting professional with law firm or professional services experience who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused setting. The position reports directly to the Director of Operations and requires strong ownership of billing accuracy, financial reporting, and compliance with internal controls. Key Responsibilities: Manage the monthly legal billing cycle, including preparation, review, revision, and finalization of pre-bills and client invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Monitor and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP), Accounts Receivable, trust balances, client costs, and third-party expenses to support cash flow and collections efforts Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, expense allocations, and financial reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and compliance Prepare detailed monthly financial reports for leadership, including AR status, WIP analysis, and client trust balances Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform account reconciliations in accordance with established accounting policies and internal controls Safeguard confidential financial and client data with the highest level of discretion and professionalism Partner with attorneys and administrative staff to resolve billing issues and improve financial workflows and efficiency Provide cross-functional administrative and financial support as needed to ensure operational excellence Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment Strong experience with legal billing, AP, AR, reconciliations, financial reporting, and trust accounting Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical and communication abilities High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information Preferred Experience: Law firm accounting experience with familiarity in billing and practice management systems Knowledge of WIP management, electronic billing platforms, trust accounting compliance, KPI reporting, and process improvement initiatives Interested in hearing more?
