Job Description We are seeking a Post Closing Correction Specialist I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in post-closing due diligence, mortgage document remediation, and secondary market readiness and a proven ability to identify, resolve, and document defects to ensure loan salability and compliance. Responsibilities: Analyze defects in closing packages, identify related issues, and remediate per procedures using internal and external resources. Accurately annotate findings and actions in the Mortgage Loan Origination System. Retrieve final documents from settlement agents, lenders, and county clerk offices for investor delivery. Validate and audit final documents against state, county, and investor guidelines and system records. Collaborate with state and county agencies to confirm recording accuracy and lien position. Ensure FHA, VA, and Rural Housing loans meet investor and agency guidelines, including AUS, underwriting transmittal, credit, and collateral documentation. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve file conditions and regulatory requirements within timelines. Record, monitor, and report deficiencies and remediation steps to closure. Ensure deficiencies are resolved and documentation received within established deadlines. Image and deliver retrieved or corrected documents using internal tracking software. Apply working knowledge of residential mortgage documents, legal requirements, company policies, secondary market standards, and government insuring agency requirements. Validate, communicate, and remediate salability issues to enable sale on the Secondary Market. Update tasks in the servicing system (e.g., Mortgage Serv) to resolve closing discrepancies. Identify system issues and escalate to management for resolution. Required Skills & Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year in closing, post-closing, processing, or real estate documentation within a title company or financial institution preferred. Knowledge of mortgage closing and post-closing due diligence, investor and agency guidelines, and recording requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate across internal and external stakeholders. Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a process-centered environment. Time management and organizational skills with commitment to production deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with loan origination and servicing systems. Preferred Skills: Experience with FHA, VA, and Rural Housing programs and secondary market investor requirements.
