Position Overview

We are seeking a Product Manager for our Pakistan business who will focus on designing, implementing, and managing financial products with end-to-end regulatory compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of SBP, SECP, and AML regulations, as well as experience embedding risk controls into products. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in fintech, banking, or consumer installment financing, and a track record of leading compliance-driven product launches in Pakistan.

Core Responsibilities

Compliance Framework Development

  • Design product requirements in alignment with SBP, SECP, and Anti-Money Laundering Act regulations.

  • Lead product compliance reviews, covering user data privacy (PDPA), Shariah compliance, and anti-fraud measures.

Embedding Risk Control into Products

  • Translate compliance requirements into product features such as KYC flows, repayment algorithms, and fee disclosure templates.

  • Coordinate with product and tech teams in China to implement features.

  • Monitor regulatory policy changes (e.g., BNPL regulations) and adapt product strategies accordingly.

Local Compliance Collaboration

  • Liaise with law firms, consulting agencies, and SBP-accredited bodies for licensing, audits, and reporting.

  • Train business teams to identify high-risk scenarios (e.g., promotions during religious periods, remote-region collections).

Mandatory Requirements

Experience

  • 4+ years of product compliance experience in fintech, banking, or consumer installment financing.

  • Experience in the Pakistani financial market is strongly preferred.

  • Must have led or participated in at least one full financial product compliance launch (case summary required).

Professional Knowledge

  • Familiarity with:
    SBP Consumer Protection Regulations
Credit Information Bureau (CIB) reporting rules
    Shariah Compliance framework

Language

  • Fluent in English (working language).

  • Proficiency in Urdu is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Risk Sensitivity: Ability to anticipate regulatory grey areas (e.g., interest-free promotions during religious festivals).

  • Local Insight: Knowledge of user segmentation in Pakistan (e.g., repayment cycles for agricultural income groups).

  • Resilience: Adaptability to fast-changing regulations (e.g., SBP’s tightened BNPL policy in 2024).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary with annual performance-based reviews.

  • Festival bonuses and mobile/internet allowance.

  • Opportunity to lead compliance-driven product development at a multinational fintech.
