Senior Accountant – Dublin, Ireland

Role Responsibilities

• Ensures timely completion of accounting close process responsibilities.
• Prepares and analyses journal entries and accounting records, including complex financial transactions and reports, determining accounting reserves, expense recognition, among other judgments.

• Prepare monthly reconciliations, roll forwards, clear Intercompany out of balances and reconciling items timely.

• Identifies opportunities to realize efficiencies and implement process improvements.

• Prepare income statement, balance sheets, and other financial statements.

• Financial reporting and analysis to management and business partners.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations such as safeguarding customer funds and capital adequacy.
• Participates in and implements accounting projects, including new business strategies, system updates or accounting standard changes.

• Function as an accounting liaison with other departments such as audit, tax and other outsourced providers

Role Requirements

• Fully qualified in one of the following; ACA, CIMA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA along with experience in accounting.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, legal, tax requirements and regulatory reporting is preferred
• Demonstrate Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• 1 year post qualified financial accounting experience.
• Oracle, Excel, and other financial tool knowledge is preferred.

Work Shift

HYBRID - Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. We believe this fosters common ways of working and supports how we execute initiatives for our customers. The expectation is to work from the office a minimum of three days a week.
