Summary The Specialty Finance team is a dedicated national lending group focused on providing highly monitored asset-based, tailored debt capital solutions to non-bank financial services companies across a wide variety of asset classes in addition to cash flow-based lending for middle market companies across a wide variety of industries. The Specialty Finance Portfolio Manager (PM) is a critical member of the Deal Team responsible for contributing to the development of profitable relationships through proactively managing portfolios by identifying trends and alerting management to changes in portfolio economic conditions. Key Responsibilities Include Actively collaborates with Relationship Managers (RM) to call on current and potential clients to understand their capital needs; Identifies cross-sell opportunities. Screens opportunities, provides guidance on risk rating, evaluates transaction risks and mitigants, recommends proper credit structures, and prepares thoughtful credit memos while ensuring alignment with the Bank’s risk appetite. Partners with Credit Analysts (CA) and RM to lead the credit analysis, due diligence, underwriting, structuring, and ongoing portfolio management activities of relationships. Serves as a trusted partner to and interfaces with Credit as a primary point of contact. Oversight of legal documentation and post-approval diligence requirements. Maintains the timely engagement of all parties while properly delegating analysis components to the CA. Maintains satisfactory portfolio management metrics and ensures credit quality and servicing timeliness are pristine. Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentoring to junior associates of the team. Qualifications Include Bachelor's Degree with 6-8 years of relevant credit/work experience required. Desire to thrive in a team environment with an independent self-starting attitude. Ability to effectively manage multiple workstreams while maintaining high attention to detail and quality diligence. Intellectual curiosity to sharpen skill set coupled with effective communication and presentation skills, demonstrating deep knowledge and understanding of the portfolio. Commitment to quality in a results-oriented environment while maintaining trust of all stakeholders. Advanced credit competence, relationship building skills, a teachable spirit, and goal oriented.
