Responsibilities: Lead in the preparation and review of Sales tax returns and account reconciliation Conduct sales and use audits, property tax audits, and appeals if necessary Execute internal audits – file amended sales tax returns, and protest PPT valuations Maintain and update the indirect tax engine (Sovos) as needed and support the company with tax department inquiries Write domestic tax policies and procedures for indirect tax Assist in the preparation and review of U.S. federal and state consolidated income tax returns, including all foreign reporting requirements (5471s, FBARs, etc.) Prepare income tax extensions and estimated tax payments Complete tax account reconciliations Prepare business tax returns and annual filings Perform tax research with the ability to document clear conclusion and tax positions Oversee training of the staff tax accountant and assist with indirect tax filings (sales tax, property tax, real estate tax, VAT, GST, Consumption Tax, etc.) Coordinate with all areas of the company where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures to stream-line processes and satisfy department needs Skills: 3-5 years tax accounting experience in a tax department, private or public Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills Sovos sales tax software a plus Strong understanding of Tax and US GAAP principles Comfortable with tax research tools, RIA Checkpoint a plus Strong proficiency in MS Office Applications, particularly Excel Ability to work with minimal daily supervision Team player, detail oriented, and organized Ability to gather, organize and analyze data Strong written and verbal communication skill. The pay range for this position is $110,000 – $130,000 per year. This range reflects the annual salary that Continental Resources reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at the time of posting, consistent with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Law (M.G.L. c. 149, Β§ 105E).
