Job Description Position Summary Performs accounting functions for the Organization complying with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, senior living industry standards, as well as those practices set forth by the Organization. Responsibilities include bank and account reconciliations, routine and recurring journal entries, maintaining supporting schedules, month-end close tasks, financial statement preparation, and audit support. Essential Duties Performs bank reconciliations for operating/payroll/security deposit accounts. Prepares and posts journal entries for assigned communities. Performs monthly account audits for expenses, pre-paid expenses, inter-company, PTO liabilities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, security deposit accounts, and liability accounts, as needed. If needed, tracks resident deposit activity, refunds, and deferred revenue schedules. Prepare and maintain supporting schedules. Assists in preparation of financial statements for the Organization, audits assets and liability accounts monthly for balance accuracy. Assists with preparing schedules and other reports for the year-end audit, including, but not limited to, all schedules for all communities as requested by the auditors. In general, support organizational initiatives on healthy, successful aging, person-centered care programs, and collaborative citizenship culture. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or closely-related field such as finance, economics, or business administration required. Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in a senior living or a health care environment. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint): especially adept use of Excel spreadsheets Familiarity and knowledge of accounting software and billing systems, with preference for experience in Sage Intacct, Point Click Care, Kronos/UKG, and AnyBill A/P solutions. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Must be able to use a variety of office tools and equipment: computer/laptop, copier/printer/fax, personal phone Sits, stands, bends, and moves intermittently during working hours On-site at central support office (some remote/home office may be approved) Is subject to frequent interruptions, so must be able to balance and prioritize multiple tasks assigned. Frequently interacts with relevant stakeholders including coworkers and team members within the organization.
