TAX MANAGER Location: Troy ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Titan Talent is partnering with a well-established, mid-sized public accounting firm in the Oakland County area seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their team. This firm works with a diverse client base including closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals, and offers a collaborative environment with strong leadership and long-term growth potential. POSITION OVERVIEW The Tax Manager will take ownership of client engagements, overseeing tax compliance and advisory work while acting as a key point of contact for clients. This individual will also play a leadership role internally, mentoring staff and helping drive efficiency across tax processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and manage tax engagements across individual, partnership, corporate, and trust clients Review complex federal and multi-state tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor Identify tax-saving opportunities and communicate recommendations proactively Supervise and develop staff and senior-level team members Manage engagement timelines, workflow, and deliverables Stay current on tax regulations and assess impact on clients Partner with firm leadership to improve processes and optimize team performance QUALIFICATIONS CPA license required 6 years of public accounting tax experience Strong experience reviewing complex returns and managing engagements Background in tax planning and client advisory work Prior experience leading or mentoring staff Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING FOR Strong technical tax knowledge and problem-solving ability Effective communicator with both clients and internal teams Proven leadership and team development skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Client-focused mindset with high attention to detail WHY THIS ROLE This is a strong opportunity to join a firm that values both client relationships and internal culture.
