Accountant - Financial Services
A leading, financial services firm is seeking an Accountant to support accounting processes related to financial reporting and transactions. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to track, reconcile, and analyze financial data. This is a dynamic position that will challenge you to think critically and proactively enhance efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly accounting close for one or more entities, including reconciliations, variance analyses, and journal entries.
- Record daily transactions such as fund transfers and operational activity.
- Support monthly P&L reporting processes.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data and balance sheet accounts.
- Identify and explain data anomalies while maintaining proper documentation.
- Assist with external audits, tax filings, and compliance matters.
- Identify process inefficiencies and help implement automation solutions.
- Handle ad hoc projects as assigned by managers and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- 3+ years of public accounting experience (supporting financial services clients)
- CPA preferred
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
