This role will require you to run the finance function for the Group entity and our transport division, APL Direct.
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this role is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong cashflow management, and disciplined execution of core accounting processes.
This is a structured, deadline-driven role suited to someone who takes ownership, works proactively, and is comfortable engaging across all levels of the business from operational staff through to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable and receivable
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage payment runs
- Maintain cashflow forecasts
- Deliver month-end close, including journals and reconciliations
- Prepare management reporting and variance analysis
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation
- Support GST, FBT, and NZ compliance requirements
- Prepare budgets and forecasts

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Effective stakeholder engagement across finance and operations
- Strong month-end experience
- Experience with cashflow management
- ERP proficiency and strong Excel skills
- Sound knowledge of NZ GST, FBT and compliance requirements
Ideally, you will have a degree in accounting or finance, with either CA/CPA qualification or currently working towards it.
Previous experience in a commercial accounting role is also preferred.
