Finance Director
At Mayku we’re building the World’s first Desktop Factory to put the power to create back in the hands of makers everywhere. We are looking for a bright and ambitious finance professional to join our innovative, category defining company on our mission to give ‘power to the makers’.
The Finance Director will be a core member of the executive leadership team and will play a key part in forging the financial path for Mayku from a commercial perspective as we scale our business.
Your mission is to enable the team to make great decisions by defining, creating and articulating clear financial information. Additionally you will play a pivotal role in creating the underlying financial models that help sell the business to investors. Alongside these two core facets of the role - the Finance Director at Mayku will be responsible for building a high quality finance team and ensuring all the administrative and compliance sides of the finance function are taken care of in a timely and effective manner.

You'll be responsible for:- Providing strategic guidance and enabling financial decision making across the team.
- Providing visibility into our performance to aid management decisions and reporting to investors.
- Establishing KPIs for the team and ensuring that we have the data streams in place that we need to understand them.
- Providing visibility into key trends and developing a foreword look forecast to support future company investment decisions.
- Plan and execute series-A funding by providing financials to potential and existing investors to sell the business and help them understand our plans.
- Building and managing the finance team.
- Ensure financial controls are appropriate to a scaling business, in line with best practice, legislation and support the overall governance of the business.
- Company secretarial and HMRC filings.
- Delivering intelligence to the board to support effective governance.
- Lead on arranging future debt financing or equity financing with the senior management team.

- The ability to support and challenge the CEO.
- An affinity with numbers and the ability to interpret them for others.
- Excellent technical skills and efficient, swift handling and processing of large amounts of Data in Excel.
- A quick and nimble mind - are able to spot trends that others can’t see when looking at numbers.
- Obsessive over process - with a high attention to detail.
- An ability to hold people accountable. Not letting them get away with bad financial practice, or unnecessarily costly enterprises because they don’t want to confront issues.
- Previous experience with fundraising and effective management of working capital tied up in stock.
