Description

Panasonic Australia has great opportunity for a Financial Accountant, this is a 9-month contract opportunity to cover parental leave.

As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial information and reporting as per Panasonic Corporation policies and requests, local regulatory reporting and taxation requirements. You will manage and be responsible for all Advertising and Promotion, Co-ad, reviewing Customer Pricing, Personnel Costs, Fringe Benefits and Fixed Assets Accounting functions. You will also conduct reviews and check the designated employee expenses for compliance with company expenditure policies and support the team with other finance projects as required from time to time.

 

The key responsibilities we would trust you with:

  • You will be responsible for monitoring customer and supplier expenditures for advertising and promotions, customer/supplier invoices and internal stock requests checking to ensure that they adhere to the pre-approvals and are within the expenditure limits.
  • Maintain fringe benefit tax related information that applies within approved advertising and promotion expenditures and retain a fixed Assets registers on a monthly basis regarding additions, disposals, sales of fixed assets etc.
  • On a monthly basis you will complete the depreciation entry, updating new items, dispose if any to be written off and reconcile to general ledger at each closing period.
  • You will ensure complete monthly provision journals with appropriate supporting documentation for advertising and promotion, personnel costs, fixed assets, and ensure that they agree with the general ledger by completing daily/weekly/monthly reconciliations.

 

The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most to the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Business
  • 2-3 years’ experience in similar role
  • General ledger reconciliation experience
  • Relevant ERP systems experience
  • Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • strong follow through and completion within designated targeted time limits
