This role requires a combination of strong technical accounting expertise, operational finance acumen, leadership capability, business partnership skills, and advanced data analytics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Accounting Excellence Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process. Ensure timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements. Maintain integrity of general ledger, revenue recognition, lease accounting, inventory accounting, and fixed asset accounting. Oversee consolidation reporting to global headquarters. Drive continuous improvement in close efficiency and reporting accuracy. Demonstrated ownership of monthly and annual preparation, review, and analysis of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and identify financial statement risks. Strong understanding of how operational transactions flow through the general ledger and impact financial statements. Ability to explain financial statement performance, variances, and cash flow drivers to executive leadership and non-financial stakeholders. Tax, Audit & Compliance Leadership Lead federal, state, provincial, local, sales/use, customs, and income tax compliance activities. Partner with Global Headquarters & external tax advisors to identify tax planning opportunities and risk mitigation strategies. Own all external financial audits and statutory audits. Lead internal audit readiness and remediation efforts. Maintain strong internal control environment and compliance with corporate policies. Monitor emerging accounting and tax regulations and ensure organizational readiness. Working Capital & Financial Operations Drive DSO improvement initiatives. Partner with Supply Chain to optimize inventory turns and cash utilization. Oversee treasury activities, banking relationships, and cash forecasting. Deep understanding of cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and cash conversion cycle optimization. Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, fixed assets, and procurement controls. Develop actionable working capital strategies that strengthen financial flexibility. FP&A, Business Insights & Executive Storytelling Partner with Director of Finance and Departmental Business Leaders on the annual budget, forecasts, and long-range planning, while being able to identify risks and opportunities. Develop executive-level financial presentations for senior leadership, Board meetings, and corporate reporting. Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers, while communicating findings through clear, actionable recommendations. Transform complex financial data into concise and clear business insights and recommendations. Build financial narratives that explain performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and required actions. Serve as a trusted advisor to department leaders by helping them understand financial impacts of business decisions. Systems, Automation & Process Transformation Lead finance process modernization initiatives. Drive ERP optimization and automation efforts. Ability to extract, cleanse, transform, and analyze large data sets from ERP, CRM, and operational systems. Simplify workflows while maintaining appropriate controls. Improve reporting tools, dashboards, and financial visibility. Eliminate friction and reduce manual effort throughout finance operations. Leadership & Talent Development Directly supervises employees in their area of responsibility. Develop a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. Coach, mentor, and develop finance professionals. Build succession plans and elevate organizational capability. Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and development plans. Promote collaboration and partnership across departments. Lead cross functional team projects. Responsible for adherence to quality management system and maintaining up to date work instructions and training materials for area of responsibility. Participate in acquisition due diligence and integration activities. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or advanced degree a plus. 7-10 years progressive accounting experience with 5 years finance leadership experience managing accounting teams and developing leaders required. Experience in manufacturing, medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences, or other regulated industries strongly preferred. Experience managing full-cycle accounting functions required. Must have a strong understanding of: US GAAP; IFRS; Tax compliance; Revenue recognition; Inventory accounting; Internal controls; Audit management; ERP implementation and process transformation experience preferred; High level of proficiency in ERP systems and use of reporting tools to analyze large amount of data required. Must possess a high level of proficiency in Excel, Power Point, Word, financial modeling, and Power BI or similar application expertise. CPA strongly preferred Occasional travel up to 5% may be required. Pay anticipated for this position in New Jersey is from $100,000-$130,000, depending on a number of factors. This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in a bonus plan which is associated with this position.
