Position Title: Lead Property Accountant Reporting into: Director of Finance

Main Job Responsibilities:
Produce monthly Financial Statements according to IFRS/ASPE or as specified by client policy/requirements.
Reconcile, analyze and understand all Balance Sheet accounts
Prepare property budgets within assigned deadlines
Utilize budgets and other tools to analyze variances
Complete year end operating cost adjustments and tenant billings for assigned properties within 90 days of operating year end
Provide supplementary reporting and analysis as required by the client
Prepare and record operating costs and realty tax adjustments monthly
Ensure all HST and other legislated taxes and assessments are reconciled and remitted on a timely basis
Support site in reconciliation and invoicing of tenants as due
Supply tenant analysis and statements of accounts as required
Provide input/feedback for improving procedures and initiating quality and efficiency enhancements
Communicate efficiently and effectively, in a professional manner, with all employees and clients
Collect and post tenant payments by recording cheque and pre-authorized transactions and update tenants accounts as needed
Assist Controller with special projects and training of staff
Working with auditors to ensure timely completion of audits
Respond to tenant inquiries in a timely manner
Location: Greater Toronto Area (Downtown Core Close to Union Station) Hybrid Working Model
Salary Range:
Based on Experience Competitive plus +10% Bonus, +5% RRSP Pension Match
Requirements:
Education - Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience -1-3 years of related experience required;
previous property management accounting experience an asset
Relationship Skills - Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; team player
Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities, ability to work at a detailed level; willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change
Computer Skills - Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs; knowledge of Yardi is considered an asset.
