Staff Accountant - Washington, DC Job Summary Beacon Hill has partnered with a client in Washington, DC who is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting core accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with financial reporting and month-end close processes. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of financial transactions while adhering to accounting best practices and internal controls. Job Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank and balance sheet accounts Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, as needed Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies Assist in the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions Support audit requests and assist with audit preparation Maintain organized and detailed financial records and documentation Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies Requirements Experience with general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP) and accounting software Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems Understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices Beacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals with disabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
