Job Summary
The Vice President of Finance is a member of senior management who assists the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) with formulating, implementing and management of FBHP’s finances, including accounting, investments, departmental budgets, operational information, market trend analysis, etc. The Vice President of Finance will have a thorough understanding of the financial controls that safeguard the corporate assets by implementing the appropriate accounting principles, tax codes and regulations.
General Responsibilities
· Develop Company's financial management strategy and contributing to its strategic goals;
· Monitor and report on revenue and expenditures and presenting financial reports to the Executive Management Team;
· Provide sound advise to the Executive Management Team regarding financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, financial forecasting and policy matters.
· Identify and assess financial risks, develop risk management strategies and implement appropriate controls;
· Ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operation needs and optimize working capital;
· Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, including accountants, financial analysts and financial managers;
· Participate in the development of comprehensive health and Medicare supplement premium rates;
· Participate on the joint retirement committee with the affiliated companies;
· Develop strong relationships with the executive team, Board of Directors, and affiliated companies’ executive leadership teams;
· Ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations and laws;
· Participate in investment committees meetings;
· Develop a strong relationship with the financial advisors;
· Participate in various financial audits;
· Assist with preparation of topics for audit committee meetings and board meetings;
· Assist in the review and certification of required financial filings or reports with governing bodies;
· Oversee process for purchase order requests for acquisition of assets and supplies;
· Preparing annual forecasted financial results;
· Tracking and reporting of financial corporate goals;
· Mentoring Accounting team members in order to achieve professional growth and meeting continuing education requirements; and
· Leading special projects as needed.
· The Vice President of Finance must also maintain a current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including industry best practices. During lawful compliance reviews or investigations, the Vice President of Finance will cooperate with the appropriate regulatory entities.
